Kellie and Matt :: Married :: St. Louis Parish Webster, Ma
How long have you two been together?
7 years
Tell me your story!
We met in track and since Matt had two first names I didn't know whether to call him Matt or James. After about a year of being friends in school and a summer apart I decided to ask him out. I waited until the end of cross country practice and asked him if he wanted to be my boyfriend, this was my sophomore year and his junior year of high school. I gave him my number and he decided our first date.
Our first date was to a Saint Louis fall festive we were still in that awkward high school phase so we just walked around and ate some food. One of our friends came over and literally made us hold hands because neither one of us was brave enough to make the first move.
Matt and I had been together for 6 years when Matt popped the question. It was a Thursday night and I had a night practice from 6-8 and Matt told me he wanted to see me for our anniversary. I told him that we could just celebrate on the weekend, but he had other plans. He said that he still wanted to see me even if it was only for a few hours. So he showed up at my dorm and asked me to come out to his car. I got into his car and he handed me a note, it was a cute letter with 101 ways to say I love you and a lot of our inside jokes from our relationship and the last line was "there are only four more words I can say to express my love for you and I hope that will be enough". Then I turned to him and he held up the ring and asked me to marry him.
What do you love most about your partner?
Bride: I love his sense of humor, he never ceases to make me laugh. It is never a dull moment with him.
Groom: Her childish and innocent attitude. She doesn't seem as phased by the stress of work as I am.
Tell me about yourselves. What are your hobbies? Careers? Goals/Dreams?
Kellie: I have always been an artist but lately with work I have never made time to do anything but color in a coloring book. I would really like to start doing my own work again. I also enjoy reading and have recently started to learn how to snow board. I work at Quest Diagnostics in their clinical toxicology lab. My future goal is to work in law enforcement in the toxicology lab, so I have a good start.
Matt: I like to relax with my family. Most of the time we can sit around the living room for hours talking about things (mostly complaining). I also like to hike around a dam in Oxford in the nicer weather. I work fixing servers and mainframes at the moment, but I hope to branch into the cyber security field, as I have had attempts to steal my info , and i hope to be able to stop that from happening to other people.
If you could pick one word that describes you as a couple, what would it be?
Kellie: Endearing
Matt: Poifect
Describe what your wedding day style or vision was in one sentence:
A classical wedding with rustic flair.
Wedding day color scheme and/or theme:
Teal and golden yellow
What was your biggest wedding planning challenge, and how did you overcome it?
It was mostly planning with the bridesmaids because they all lived in different towns and not everyone was available to do different wedding details like going for the dress shopping, making the decorations and planning the bridal shower. The only way I could get this stuff done was to take what I could get, whoever was free came which was all but one came. I just had one bridesmaid who didn't help much in the overall wedding.
What was the most memorable and/or the funniest part of your wedding planning?
When my dad got up and sang "friends in low places".
Did you have a First Look? If so, please describe that experience for you:
No, we wanted it to be a surprise.
What did your ceremony entail?
We had a traditional Catholic wedding with an hour mass.
What was your reception like?
The reception was very lively it had a great mix of ages and everyone we excited to be there. We gave out s'more love trail mix as out party favor. One of the funnier moments was at the cake cutting when Matt fed me the cake and I smudged it on his face, but then the dj told me to give Matt a nice big smooch so he both ended up with cake on our face. Another moment that happened with the kids in my family was a hike through the woods to the old dock at Point Breeze.
What advice would you like to impart to other brides?
I would say relax but make sure you are getting stuff done early because it does come quick.
What were you most anxious, nervous or concerned about regarding your wedding photography, and what was the outcome?
I was most worried about missing moments and Kara Emily Krantz Photography did not let me down.
What is your favorite wedding day memory?
Kellie: Walking down the aisle seeing the man that I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
Matt: When the door was opened and I saw Kellie in her wedding dress
What is the best part (so far) about being married?
Kellie: Seeing Matt wearing his ring and being able to call Matt my husband.
Matt: Being able to call Kellie my wife

Testimonial
I was most nervous about meeting a photographer that would make me uncomfortable. That was never really an issue with Kara. She was fun and lively, she took really nice portraits, and candid photos. She was a little quirky but professional and a lot of fun! I recommend an engagement session so you can get to know her and get more comfortable in front of the camera. Great experience; I would definitely recommend Kara to any bride.
